This Year, Resolve To Treat YOU Better
Posted by Melmira Boutique | January 11, 2012

With the New Year comes a desire for self-improvement. Resolutions can be difficult to keep, and failure often results in self-loathing. But you’re not a failure! This year, resolve to be kinder to your best friend … YOU.

Here are a few resolutions to try on this year, and suitable lingerie styles to help you achieve them!

I will go to the gym because I LOVE my body, not because I hate it.

Don’t be intimidated by the gym. Consider it “me” time and a place to focus your thoughts and mind.

A new sports bra is a great way to kickstart your workout schedule. Avoid the temptation to exercise in just any old bra, and choose a style that works for your activity level. Sports bras are designed for extra wear and tear, with materials that wick away perspiration.

Marie Jo, Panache and Lunaire make wired options for those in deeper cup sizes, and Anita and Champion offer great support without a wire.

I deserve a bra that is both practical AND pretty.

A well-fit bra lifts the breasts, defines waistlines and lengthens the torso, making you appear slimmer. Pretty lingerie also chases away those January blahs!

Many women shy away from lacy or seamed options. ‘T-shirt’ bras are for T-shirt weather, and winter is a great time to experiment with lace and seams, which will be discreet underneath cozy layers and sweaters.

If you are wearing black, grey, or any opaque tone, consider a colorful bra by Lise Charmel, Prima Donna or Simone Perele. Instead of reaching for your beige bra for underneath your white tops, try red. It works just as well as a neutral tone!

I will love and dress the body I have, not the body I used to have.

Our bodies are ever-changing. Bras that are too small or too large are uncomfortable and unflattering, and keep you from looking and feeling your best.

If your size is changing, ask your fitter for advice. Sometimes a simple adjustment or alteration can fix the bras you own. Remember, investing in the correct size and style will improve your self image, and give you the confidence to take on all of life’s challenges in the upcoming year!
