How’s this for a perfect pairing: Victoria’s Secret supermodels swaying down the catwalk to the tune of “Moves Like Jagger”, a song that could have been written for them?
That’s likely to be one of the highlights of this year’s Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, which just announced that musical acts for the 2011 show will include Maroon 5 — current holders of the world’s #1 pop song — and Kanye West.
The VSFS has had fabulous luck in finding musical acts that match the show and reflect the brand. Last year’s show featured two sublime support acts: Katy Perry singing her empowerment mantra “Firework” and Ne-Yo‘s uber-romantic “Angel.”
This year’s show already looks like another winner, although there’s no word on whether Mick will make a cameo for the Maroon 5 set …
A bit more questionable is the show’s other top-billed performer. Who knows what the brilliant but erratic Yeezy will deliver this time, although we doubt he’ll be performing “That’s My Bitch” from his Jay-Z collab Watch The Throne.
Other recent performers on the annual spectacular have included Justin Timberlake, Black Eyed Peas, Usher and Seal. The odds-on favorite to lead the show this year was Beyonce, but that hope vanished with news of her pregnancy.
Interestingly, Adam Levine, lead singer for Maroon 5, had a small but highly visible part in last year’s show: cheering enthusiastically from a front-row seat beside the catwalk. You’ll have to tune in to find out who gets that coveted seat this year.
The Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show airs Tuesday, Nov. 29 at 10 p.m. on CBS.
