This is the time of year when Parisians (just like New Yorkers) flee the city, head for the beaches and laugh about all the American tourists baking on the streets back home. Bonnes vacances, y’all!
Popular lingerie brand Passionata captures the spirit of that annual exodus with a colorful new photo campaign to promote its Autumn-Winter 2012 collection.
girlmodel Bar Refaeli handles the chores for the campaign once again. By our count, this marks the third full year that Bar and Passionata have teamed up with New York photographer Greg Kadel to create the playful, monochromatic imagery used for the brand’s seasonal campaigns.
You could say these promotions are becoming repetitive, but they’ve become a signature part of the Passionata brand and a predictable pleasure that never disappoints. Passionata’s annual Bar-Kadel calendar remains hugely popular worldwide, and no doubt we’ll see some of these postcard-style images in next year’s calendar.
For its fall collection, Passionata also sticks to what it does best — casual-sexy pieces in appealing shades like the Agatha mauve, Sequoia green and the autumnal Foxy bronze hue below. All with just the right amount of decorative French flair.
Wherever you vacation this year, pack some of these beauties for the trip. You never know who you might meet.
Well, this is a bit awkward.
Supermodel Bar Refaeli will launch her own intimates label this month, hot on the heels of her new signature collection for French brand Passionata.
As the photos above show, this may cause some confusion for women trying to decide what is the best lingerie to wear while playing tennis. From a style point of view, though, there should be room for both Bars in your wardrobe.
The Israeli model, who has been the face of Passionata for three years, will launch her own brand Under Me in UK and Europe by Valentine’s Day, and should expand into North America later this year. It’s expected to be a stripped-down line of comfy daywear basics, including undershirts, tights, shorts, soft bras and T-shirts (that’s a preview image below).
Bar partnered with model pal Dudi Balsar for the project, which was originally to be called Undeez. She told Elle last fall that she started Under Me because “when I like a pair of underwear, I’ll get 30 pairs of it in the same color, but I don’t have time to go buy underwear all the time.”
Under Me will offer styles for men and women, she added, because “I had boyfriends who were the same way — they never had time to go buy socks and underwear.” She also hinted at a monthly subscription service that will be part of the new label’s webshop.
Meanwhile, Bar continues to rep for Passionata, which celebrated her long service for the brand with a capsule collection this winter called simply the Bar Refaeli Collection (below).
It’s only two ensembles but it stands out from the rest of Passionata’s popular sets. There are two lace bandeaus combined with push-up bras and two lacey bottoms, including a cute skirted shorty with small bows. The sets are available in a charcoal gray or teal green.
The busy 26-year-old also continues to front Passionata’s main lines and is featured once again in their annual retro-styled pinup calendar.
French favorite Passionata gets a headstart on fall with the release of these preview images from its next season.
The campaign sticks with the brand’s signature look of monochromatic, color-saturated backgrounds and model Bar Refaeli, who is starting to look like a goddess.
Passionata is not the most ornate lingerie from France, but the company does a wonderful job of adding some glamour to the daily-wear collection of city girls. And, as always, there are a few lines in the new collection that are perfect for a romantic night on the town.
This campaign is noticeably less playful than Passionata’s spring photoshoot; I guess fall means serious business to lingerie lovers!
And the collection itself veers toward dramatic colorways, after a spring line in which Passionata debuted some nice nudes and muted shades like pearl and peppermint.
What hasn’t changed are the impeccable lines and the very understated approach to ornamentation that gives Passionata such broad appeal. The half-cup push-up bra is back in a couple of these images and there’s a very on-trend high-waisted lace-and-satin knicker as well.
More on this later when the F/W 2011-12 collection is released.
Passionata has obviously latched onto a marketing formula that works: take one part supermodel Bar Refaeli, one part celeb photographer Greg Kadel and mix together with a playful theme that evokes both innocence and eroticism.
The new campaign for Passionata’s SS2011 lingerie collection marks the third season that the popular French brand has used a color-drenched photo series from the Bar-Kadel combo. The formula has proven so successful that you can now download a 2011 calendar of the spring campaign from the Passionata website.
If you recall, a year ago Passionata gave us an adorable (and simple) spring promotion featuring Bar on a swing, dressed in that season’s array of pastel intimates. This time, the spring series features Bar on washing day, with a couple of fun, memorable images — the baby in the laundry basket (get the hint, Leo?), and another one featuring Bar in the basket as well.
The spring style range from Passionata offers some nice surprises too. Several nude sets, and numerous pieces that combine different varieties of lace and stitching techniques. Our fave is the buttery yellow ensemble with the wee bows and scalloped trim — suitable for big occasions for daily wear if you want to pamper yourself!
Bar Refaeli is back with another memorable marketing campaign to promote Passionata‘s fall line.
You might recall we had a preview of the fall-winter 2010 collection from the sexy French brand last spring, with Bar doing her best Bardot impersonation in Passionata’s Libertine french knicker and shelf bra (it’s the photo below where Bar has a red rose in her hair).
Now we can see the full campaign and several more pieces in the fall Passionata collection, although many of these items have not yet shown up on the company website or major distributors like FigLeaves.com.
It’s obvious, though, that Passionata isn’t going to mess with a successful formula: matching molded cup bras and briefs with a generous use of printed lace and flirty accents like small bows, fringes and scalloped trim.
We can’t tell a lot about the collection from these images, but the star of the line appears to be the baroque black transparent ensemble in the last photo below, with its elegant combination of velvet, lace and triple front straps. As the French would say, “oo la la!”
Keep a watch out for these pieces as they make their way to shops in the next month. Last spring’s pastel-hued line from Passionata was one of the standout collections of the year, and this new set of classics will almost certainly be another huge hit.
