The fall collection from Monsoon Lingerie has arrived (I know, finally, right?), and it embraces two major trends that lingerie labels are showing this season — either leaning toward the darker side or oozing femininity.
Similar to last season’s collection, the new Monsoon range has been divided into three style categories: Glamour, Vintage and Nightwear. And, staying true to the label’s bohemian aesthetic, Monsoon’s fall collection features eclectic, whimsical pieces complete with lace, delicate winter florals and pastel paisleys.
Doesn’t the Vintage collection remind you of the English countryside? Seriously, the first thing I thought of when looking over the styles was the 2006 Christmas rom-com, The Holiday.
Just take a peek at the interior of Kate Winslet’s character’s cozy cottage abode. Couldn’t you just see yourself lounging there in Monsoon’s Blossom satin print bra, the uber-romantic Iona bra or the luxurious silk Blossom robe with contrast floral sash? Clearly, I need a vacation.
Of course, if the Vintage collection is not your cup of tea (sorry, I couldn’t resist!), then you’ll most likely adore the dramatic Glamour collection which infuses Gothic glam with flirtatious lace. Choose from either the Levina soft-cup, floral lace bra or the striking Bonita teal balconet bra (also offered in a basque option, as seen in the top left photo) with rich velvet paisley print.
Monsoon is a UK fashion retail chain, but its products can also be found on asos.com, which offers international shipping.
Monsoon bra sizes range from 32B-38E. The photos below show a few of our favorites from the collection.
I just discovered Monsoon lingerie, a brand of UK origin, and was ecstatic to see that my favorite model of the moment, Rosie Huntington, is the new face and bod of their spring 2010 campaign.
I first came across images of Rosie on a fashion blog, and just fell in love with her impeccable, laid-back style. From her photos (I sheepishly admit that I become obsessed when I find a new model, and pyscho-stalk them…not really…okay, a little), she always appears to be free-spirited and possesses a certain joie de vivre. Ugh, it’s a trait I always wished I inherently had; you know, being able to wake up with dirty hair, throw on a potato sack and still look phenomenal?
Huntington has already, at the age of 22, graced the cover Vogue UK, starred in a promotional film for Agent Provocateur, and was just named a Victoria’s Secret Angel. It’s no surprise really, that freakishly beautiful (seriously, do these models actually exist?!) Rosie has landed Monsoon’s spring campaign. With her bee-stung lips and feline eyes, not to mention womanly curves, Rosie models the bras, underwear and chemises effortlessly.
The UK brand, which was founded in 1973 by Peter Simon, has sought to create styles with an ethnic origin. Moreover, what’s so refreshing about the brand is that they promote and follow their corporate responsibility and culture. For example, Monsoon supports ethical design and handicrafts to create fashion, encourages recycling and energy efficient practices and has a trust to help impoverished women and children in Asia.
For this spring season, Monsoon lingerie is promoting three style categories: the Glamour collection, the Folk collection and the Vintage collection. There is also a nightwear collection for loungewear. The Glamour collection is described as ‘sophisticated with luxurious silks’, while the Folk collection features ‘mix and match fabrics with embroidery’. My personal favorite is the Vintage collection, which features antique laces and pretty, delicate trims. There is definitely something within the three categories to suit every woman’s personality.
Some of the pieces I am dying to get my hands on are the Odele bra, a satin balconet style with lace trim, the Ellie bra and brief, a lace style with bow accents, and the Maya camisole and French knicker, silk pieces with lace trim.
Oh, and if you’re feeling uber-confident today, check out the gorgeous Rosie modeling the drool-worthy pieces in a behind-the-scenes video of the photo shoot. Set to Black Magic Woman, the video is undeniably sultry. Enjoy!
