This lingerie-inspired headpiece in undoubtedly the most precious fashion collab of the year, and comes with an impeccable pedigree. It also looks like something Darth Vader’s wife might wear.
The asymmetrical wide-brimmed lace hat comes from chic couture hat-maker Maison Michel and premium lingerie and swimwear label Eres, both esteemed Paris brands. The collaboration represents a “rendezvous between two houses with unique savoir faire,” Eres designer Maire Paule Minchelli told Harpers.
The piece is meant as an accessory to Eres‘ fall collection and in fact uses the same Leavers lace pattern — inspired by the autumn leaves of Paris — found in the lingerie brand’s new Honoré bodysuit (below) from its Batignolles range.
The uses of the Eres X MM hat are many, and that’s partly the point. The two brands are hoping to expand the possibilities of the lingerie-as-outerwear phenomenon that was all the rage at Paris Fashion Week, but it would make an elegant and unforgettable statement behind closed doors as well.
Eres hasn’t yet released the price for this piece, which will be available in its boutiques and pop-ups around the world. But, for comparison, the Honoré bodysuit retails for €650, and Maison Michel‘s RTW headpieces are in the same bracket, so you have an idea of what to expect.
