For a certain kind of woman — the supremely self-confident kind — lingerie isn’t fashion, it’s performance.
It’s that woman whom Agent Provocateur is hoping to reach with the latest collection from its lavish, no-expense-spared couture label Soirée.
Soirée‘s new Autumn-Winter 2015 range celebrates the showgirl in all women, but it’s inspired by one in particular — the fearless, ageless and utterly inimitable Cher.
And it’s a veritable chorus line of opulent adornments, from glittering sequined bodysuits to sparkling beaded corsets to fringed harnesses. And while there’s no feather boas in the collection, there’s a new must-have accessory for private peekaboo performances: the Yolanda scarf, made from Mongolian lambswool and lined with mohair, which can be yours for a mere $1,200.
“Cher is the icon who inspired the season’s most resplendent pieces,” Agent Provocateur said in a press release about the new collection. “A born star, she always dazzled in intricately-crafted scraps of fabulous nothingness, placed just-so to make her goddess-like proportions even more celestial.”
While much of the Soirée collection features the kind of hyper-glam bra-knickers-suspender sets that would make Bob Mackie applaud, the true statement pieces here are the elegant satin and lace lingerie dresses and slips — less flashy, but so exquisitely designed they’ll make any woman feel and look like a starlet.

The lookbook for the collection features Hungarian model Eniko Mihalik, shot in an empty theater by Argentinian lensman Sebastian Faena.
This collection is the third and final fall range from the increasingly confident UK brand, which has turned its attention recently to iconic performers who best represent its mix of empowerment and expressive sensuality. Agent Provocateur‘s main fall line was inspired by screen icons Sophia Loren and Kim Basinger, along with modeling stars Cindy Crawford and Lara Stone. Add Cher to that lineup and you’ve got a girl squad that’s hard to beat.
