Chromat Offers Virtual Reality Viewing Experience for NYFW Runway Show
Posted by Lingerie Talk | September 11, 2015

Always wished you could nab one of those front-row seats for the hottest fashion week runway shows? Well tonight you can, without leaving the comfort of your couch or bar stool.

Chromat, the futuristic lingerie and swimwear brand out of Brooklyn, is providing some high-tech streaming options for tonight’s runway show — including the chance to experience the show in ‘virtual reality’.

Chromat will be showcasing its SS16 collection, Momentum, beginning at 8:30 p.m. to close out the second night of MADE Fashion Week in New York.

The show will be live-streamed from live.chromat.co in 360-degree and 180-degree panoramic 3D and can be viewed using Flash on any computer.

But for those with VR viewers, the experience becomes much more immersive, placing you stageside and potentially rubbing shoulders with Chromat’s growing legion of celebrity acolytes. For anyone who’s been waiting to try out the ultra-cheap VR viewer Google Cardboard for smartphones (above), this is a great excuse to plunge into the emerging world of DIY virtual reality.

Chromat is working with live streaming wizards General Population to provide free download apps for VR viewing, with separate apps for iPhone and Android. You can find the links here.

Check Lingerie Talk over the weekend for our report on one of fashion week’s most anticipated shows.

And motorists: be on the lookout this evening for young pedestrians walking around with cardboard boxes strapped to their faces. This could get dangerous.
