The timeless appeal of equestrian style meets boudoir fashion in the latest collection from With Love Lingerie, the Toronto brand known for drawing inspiration from a wide and esoteric range of source materials.
Designer Carrie Russell debuted her upcoming set, called ‘Cavalier’, with a runway show at last month’s Fashion Art Toronto. Models wore sheer kimonos, nightgowns, bodysuits and bed jackets, accessorized with equestrian helmets, riding gloves and flashes of leather strapping and western fringe.
According to FAT’s promo material, the collection’s horsey theme was chosen to highlight “the compulsion we have to control our wild instincts and the nature that surrounds us.”
This was With Love Lingerie‘s second appearance at FAT, the five-day alt fashion week that showcases some of Canada’s most imaginative designers. It was the only lingerie label represented among the 40+ designers on the FAT runway, although the week also included presentations from Toronto’s Starkers corsetry and House of Etiquette couture latex.
