It’s been a boffo year for celebrity-branded lingerie, and no one has benefited more than Dita Von Teese.
The American burlesque icon’s eponymous lingerie brand has caught on with women around the world thanks to its appealing vintage glamour vibe
and some smart, strategic distribution deals with major retailers. She even pulled off an unlikely maternity range for Destination Maternity that retained some of the retro design flair of her own collections.
Now, to top off her big year, Dita returns with a limited edition collection cobbled together with fashion footwear giant Christian Louboutin, who also supplies the pumps for Dita’s sold-out burlesque shows.
The collection is called XXXtian, which is a play on Louboutin’s personal signature Xtian. It’s completely unpronounceable, but it’s still going to fly off the shelves (even if women can’t figure out how to ask for it by name.)
The main selling point in the black-and-white collection is toile print designed by Louboutin, which shows a variety of playfully erotic faux 18th Century scenes.
“No one can be closer to a modern Marie Antoinette than Dita,” Louboutin told the Daily Telegraph, “her curves and wit celebrated on a canvas dedicated to adorn either a shoe or divine lingerie.”
So far, the XXXtian range is available only via the online French retailer Glamuse, and includes three bottoms, a bra, a corset and suspender set and the to-die-for kimono robe shown above.
Everything is fashioned from Italian silk and Calais lace, with occasional Swarovski stones for adornment, so expect to pay a premium price, starting at around €87 for the brief.
