A Real Venus In Fur
Posted by richard | October 25, 2013

This is the time of year when many of us are reaching for our parkas. For anyone planning a winter wedding, however, here’s a better style suggestion: fur-trimmed lingerie for your bridal trousseau.

A variety of exquisite boudoir delicacies trimmed with faux fur highlight the autumn-winter collection from the exclusive and always creative German label Felice Art Couture.

The Snow Queen range is the heart of this collection, featuring a bolero-like faux mink shrug (above) lined with silk and worth showing off both inside and outside the bedroom. There’s also a matching Snow Queen collar and — shades of Anna Karenina! — a faux fur muff.

For more seductive appeal and a positively regal look, Felice offers the Muse kaftan (below) — a powder pink tulle robe lined with silk satin and trimmed with an embroidered lace hem, and boasting a broad, detachable mink collar to frame your face. And if that isn’t bling enough, the Muse includes a satin belt with a diamante buckle that will, no doubt, match the gleam in your lover’s eyes.

Felice designer Claudia Metcalfe is clearly targeting the bridal luxury market with this uber-romantic collection. But Felice also specializes in unique creations that avoid many of the clichés of trousseau fashion, leaving you with wearable luxury suitable for any occasion.

For example, the Felice winter range includes a ravishing sheer kaftan called Le Marais (below); with its plunging neckline and crystal embellishments, this little treasure is ideal for a Parisian honeymoon … or simply a weekend spent binge-watching Scandal while curled up on the couch with your SO.

For an even more extravagant look on chilly winter nights, Felice offers the velvet Morning Star kaftan and robe (first two photos below), the priciest pieces in the collection at $975 and $2,000 respectively. Each comes with a detachable collar made from marabou feathers and satin silk lining. Put this on and you won’t want to leave the house until spring.

Below is the AW2013 promo campaign photographed by the gifted Vivienne Mok, who captures the dreamy romanticism that is Felice‘s signature. You can find Felice Art Couture in select boutiques (try Bella Bella in the U.S.) as well as its own webshop. All pieces are hand-made in Germany and the brand offers free worldwide shipping.
