You know summer is nearly over when … we start thinking about the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show.
The televised catwalk extravaganza and pre-Christmas shopping kickoff returns on Nov. 29, once again originating in New York City and airing on CBS.
This year’s pre-taped event will be the 10th major network broadcast of the costume spectacular, which last year drew 9 million viewers. And, judging from these early sketches, it doesn’t look like the VS team plans to tamper much with last year’s formula, which featured six themed segments and musical performances from Katy Perry and Ne-Yo.
The show will bring together almost the entire roster of Victoria’s Secret Angels after last year’s edition saw both Miranda Kerr and Doutzen Kroes skip the show while on maternity leave. Two names missing from the press release for the 2011 edition: VS Pink model Behati Prinsloo, who filled in admirably last year, and Rosie Huntington-Whitely, who still has her Angel wings despite her recent ascendancy to the A-list of movie stardom.
According to Victoria’s Secret, “the show will also include musical performances, pink carpet interviews, model profiles and a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the world’s most celebrated fashion show.” In other words, if it ain’t broke ….
