Myriam Girard’s Honeymoon Survival Kit
Posted by amy | May 31, 2011

London-based lingerie designer Myriam Girard has come up with a clever way to package her elegant silk and lace creations for this summer’s bridal season.

Girard, a French designer whose label earned raves when it debuted last year, has created a trousseau collection that offers lingerie pieces suitable for specific honeymooon destinations. If you’re honeymooning in one of the jetset hotspots of Santorini, the Seychelles, Mauritius or the Maldives, you’ll want to see what Girard has selected for those steamy seaside nights.

Each of the four themed sets in her Honeymoon Trousseau series consists of two complementing pieces meant for the beach, the bedroom or just lounging while the groom feeds you bonbons. Most of these pieces are part of Girard’s debut collection and can be purchased separately, but you’ll save 30% by picking up one of the sets selected by the designer.

Included in the Honeymoon collection are such stunners as the Délice silk satin robe (above), a couple of Girard’s silk teddies and a seductive lace shawl wrap. There are also two swimsuits in the trousseau series which (as far as we can tell) are high-end Brazilian sets that are not part of Girard’s own collection.

Girard is a passionate devotee of French Chantilly lace and uses the same supplier who provided lace for Kate Middleton’s wedding dress. In fact, Girard has named one of her honeymoon sets the Royal Trousseau — meant for couples honeymooning in the Seychelles. Ring a bell?

Here’s a look at Myriam Girard’s honeymoon series. Prices range from £160 to £255 per set, and come in Girard’s custom lingerie pouch. You can order online.

The Royal Trousseau
An ensemble fit for a princess, should one happen to be spotted honeymoon in the Seychelle islands. This set features a Brazilian triangle bikini and Girard’s crèpe and lace Plaisir teddy.

The Love Trousseau
With its bleached streetscapes and blinding blue skies, Santorini will provide a dramatic backdrop for this elegant black silk slip and matching lace shawl with a butterfly pattern. No one will care that you don’t speak Greek.

The Sensual Trousseau
You’ll sizzle in the Indian Ocean paradise of the Maldives in this bandeau bikini with pineapple print and Girard’s signature Mystérieuse silk satin teddy.

The Chic Trousseau
Two pink silk items that look like they were made to be modeled on the powdery beaches of Mauritius — the Délice robe and a silk babydoll with contrasting lace trim.
