New York designer Alexandra Grecco gets a terrific showcase for her exquisite creations this week, with an exclusive four-day trunk show at Bloomie’s Soho location on Broadway.
The event will include some new pieces created exclusively for Bloomie’s, along with Grecco’s S/S 2011 collection, which we profiled earlier.
It all starts tomorrow (May 19) with a reception from 6-8 p.m. The collection will be available through Sunday on the third floor.
Grecco, you may recall, creates dresses, rompers and lingerie in delicate fabrics and with a distinctly nostalgic look and feel. Too original to be called ‘vintage’ but fondly evocative of early Hollywood glamour icons.
What to look for: scalloped-trim shorts, the sheer peek-a-boo Samantha blouse, the achingly pretty My Sweetheart dress (shown above, with the Harlow bolero), the gorgeous Cinema tea gown and Shimmer slip dress, and possibly some of her early pieces like the adorable one-piece rompers named after Lillian Gish and Mary Pickford.
Sigh. NYC is just too far away.
Below are some more images from the photoshoot for the trunk show, modeled by Celia Rowlson-Hall.
