Talk about good timing. No, make that great timing.

It was early November last year when Michelle Taylor, founder of Tallulah Love lingerie, received the first factory samples of a new silk-and-lace ensemble she had designed for her 2011 collection. Its name? Royal Welcome.

Three days later, on Nov. 16, came the announcement from Buckingham Palace of the engagement between Prince William and longtime girlfriend Kate Middleton — who, as it happens, was the inspiration for the new Tallulah Love lingerie set.

“She has such a classic beauty and her conduct and manner are most definitely befitting of a princess,” said Michelle.

Since that bit of serendipity last fall, Michelle has been rushing to get Royal Welcome into production as royal wedding fever mounts.

The Royal Welcome bra and knicker set aren’t available for purchase just yet, but they’re sure to be highly coveted when they reach shops. The set is one of half a dozen lavishly luxurious new style ranges coming later this spring from the still-new UK label that has been earning raves since its debut in early 2010.

The black-and-white Royal Welcome features a hand-drawn print with the Tallulah Love crest and the slogan “Show Some Love” on ivory silk trimmed with Chantilly lace and crowned edging. Tiny striped bows add a true princess detail.

Not surprisingly, Taylor said the Royal Welcome ensemble is the bestseller among advance orders from stockists.

Tallulah Love collections are designed by Taylor, who worked for a number of British retail brands as well as Playboy Intimates before launching her own label. It’s also one of the fastest-growing luxury labels in the fashion lingerie market, with stockists in 11 countries.

We’ll show you more from the glamorous and richly detailed 2011 collection shortly. In the meantime, here’s another photo below showing the Royal Welcome set.

The photoshoot was done at a rustic mansion called Pension des Marronniers in Paris, just across from Luxembourg Gardens, and was shot by Swiss lensman Raphael Yoshitimo.

And Kate, if you’re reading this, don’t worry — Michelle will probably be thrilled to give you a sample set if you’re stuck for what to wear on Friday!
