Calm down, gents — Candice is NOT getting married!
No, it’s just another day in the life of Victoria’s Secret angel Candice Swanepoel, who this time has the honor of debuting an expanded collection of bridal pieces under the mark Sexy Little Bride.
Coming on the heels of the annual VS Valentine’s Day campaign, we expect a lot of lads to simply surrender and show up on V-Day with a ring wrapped in something frilly, inside a little pink VS bag. Ladies, start working on your acceptance speeches!
Until now, Victoria’s Secret hasn’t had a very interesting collection of bridal lingerie — search the catalogue online and you’ll just find a random assortment of unrelated pieces from their other ranges.
The new Sexy Little Bride range isn’t terribly ambitious, but it fulfils the VS strategy of reaching deeper into market niches that it has previously ignored.
This collection isn’t Kate Middelton-worthy, but if the price points are low enough it could provide an affordable option for young brides on a budget. There’s a nice sheer babydoll that will stir a few hearts, and a couple of items — the pretty basque with baby-blue bows and the shaping slip — that don’t just belong in your bridal trousseau, either.
Our only issue: will brides want trousseau pieces that come imprinted with VS slogans? I don’t know. That’s cute for college, but your trip to the altar should be all about YOU.
