Home / What Would Wonder Woman Wear: Deborah Marquit’s Comic Collection
600x74 Bridal Guide

Does Wonder Woman wear a push-up bra? Does Batgirl slip into something slinky during her downtime? More importantly, do all those supergals prefer a thong or a string under their bullet-deflecting tights?

I’m sure we’ve all pondered these questions, although probably not since we were 8 or 9. It comes as exciting news, then, to learn that a true couture lingerie designer — Deborah Marquit of New York — has come up with some real-world responses to these speculations.

Marquit produces a range of highly original, made-to-order lingerie that has earned her a cult-like following — she’s a favorite of A-list celebs and even has a Facebook fan club. But she’s probably most widely known for her popular line of fluorescent neon bras and panties that keep popping up in black-lit clubs and discos from L.A. to Ibiza.

Now, Marquit has taken her neon palette in a fun new direction, with a new lingerie line inspired by DC and Marvel comics, and those zesty primary colors we all grew up with.

The new limited-edition collection promises to be a vibrant line of hand-cut separates made from gorgeous Antoinette French lace. No photos yet, but watch for a form-hugging Technicolor range that includes electric royal blue, scarlet red and the fluorescent yellows and pinks we’ve seen previously. The image below will give you a sense of the patterns and shades to look forward to.

The comic-book collection will be available online at Barneys and Net-a-Porter by the end of the year.

So, if you’re counting the days till the next Comic-Con (July 21-24), or your BF is a Big Bang Theory fanatic, put this on your must-have list!

And if you only know Deborah Marquit for her neon assortment, make sure to visit her NYC shop on W. 15th Street or checkout her legendary vinyl pieces and other goodies online.
