It may be fall, but it’s still Butterfly season anywhere Claire Pettibone‘s label is found.
The L.A.-based designer knows how to make a woman feel beautiful when it matters; her famous couture bridal gowns are drool-worthy, with exquisite detailing and figure-flattering silhouettes fluttering down aisles across the world.
So it’s no surprise that her ultra-feminine lingerie line is just as irresistible.
Launched in 2008, Butterflies by Claire Pettibone is a collection of ethereal lingerie pieces that bridge fashion and function. The unique prints — many of them flirty florals and patterns conjuring up romantic nostalgia — set these delicates apart from the world of basic beige. Printed continuously over the seams and lace of the garments, the gorgeous watercolor images take lingerie to a whole new level: art.
Collectors, take note. You may want one of everything.
Exhibit A: the Kashmir lace tank. This kaleidoscope-print tank in mesh lace can serve as a secret weapon under a tailored blazer or a sexy piece to wear when you slip into “something more comfortable.“ The wide straps ensure that it’s bra-friendly. Curvy women, rejoice.
Exhibit B: A sunshine Poppy print will put a smile on your face even if no one else gets a peak at your underwear.
Exhibit C: The Zebra chemise. Wear it as a slip, a nightgown, or a risqué little number come date night. This is one part lingerie, three parts stunning.
(For those who prefer solid prints beneath their work wardrobe, Butterflies also comes in a variety of pretty solid shades. They’ve got you covered.)
The panties, camis and slips can be purchased at Claire Pettibone’s online boutique and in department and specialty stores across the U.S. Join the ranks of celebrity fans like Demi Moore and Katherine Heigl and “get your Butterfly on.”
BTW, the photo at the top of this post is from new Claire’s Spring 2011 collection. Watch or it to show up in stores and online soon.
