Ell & Cee | Fall 2010

For those readers who are students and currently dealing with mid-terms, I sympathize with you all. Yep, I’ve have been studying like a madwoman all week, cooped up in my bedroom like a devout monk.

Thankfully, they’ll be over in a couple of days, but I have found a wonderful distraction that instantly perked up my mood today — Ell & Cee lingerie’s gorge preview images from their F/W collection, Gypsy Luxe.

Ell & Cee, which was created in 2002 by fashion graduate Laura Cloke, began as a small venture with Laura hand-sewing the feminine underpinnings. But soon enough, Cloke debuted at London Fashion Week and now the label has grown to include bed jackets, bridal wear and silky loungewear, available in sizes  S-L and 32A-36D.

While there are only a few images released for the new Gypsy Luxe line, the styles remind me of romantic creations from designers like Undrest and Mimi Holliday by Damaris. The soft color palette and attention to details like floral appliqués on sheer fabrics, ruffles, bows and polka dots give the collection an air of whimsy and flirtatiousness. I am completely enamoured by the tangerine lace bodysuit with silk trim and sexy back-cutout, as I am with the retro-esque polka dot range.

Not to mention that the interior space, with its claw-foot tub, off-white Louis XV chair and ornate headboard, pretty much constitutes my dream home.

We’ll have to wait a little longer to see the rest of the collection featured on Ell & Cee’s website (which I am sure will be irresistible), but the images did provide me with a well-needed mental escape. Sigh, now back to the books!

If you do happen to reside across the pond, glamorousamorous.com stocks most of the autumn collection, you lucky ducks! As for the rest of us, visit ellandcee.com to locate a stockist nearest you.
