Risque by Damaris | Autumn-Winter 2010 Collection

A little while ago we unveiled the flirty collection from Mimi Holliday, and if you’ve been wondering what big sis line Damaris has created for fall — well, wait no more!

You might remember the preview images we showcased from the highly anticipated Damaris collection, and now they are finally available online with the addition of two never-before-seen styles.

If I had to sum up the label’s collection in just one word it would be S-U-B-L-I-M-E. Damaris lingerie is the epitome of luxury.

With style names like Risqué, Noir de Nuit, Splendide and Désire de Nuit, it’s difficult not to feel like a seductive femme fatale in one of these creations.

Desire de Nuit_Detail | Damarais 2010

Damaris’ autumn/winter collection embodies the glamorous and rich fall fashion trends. Désire de Nuit, for instance, combines velvet Swarovski-encrusted straps (right) that support delicate indigo Chantilly floral lace cups. It is the perfect style for the feminine woman with a tough edge.

Also right on cue is the intricate showstopper, the Noir de Nuit set. Fabricated from matte-silk combinations of four different types of jet-black delicate Leavers lace, including the new swirly lace and new flock polka dot lace, as well as French silk tulle, the result is a monochromatic ensemble that marries texture and graphics. Similar in style is the Risqué set in the photo above: a cheeky (literally) lace design for those looking to flaunt their assets.

Of course, no autumn collection would be complete without a sultry scarlet style. Damaris injects the dark and seductive collection with Splendide, a bright pomegranate lace and matte-silk range that will instantly cure those winter blues. Pair the soft-cup bra with either the vintage-esque high-waist briefs or festive bow-back thong.

Nouvelle Amour is by far the most delicate floral lace range, with black satin trim that will make jaws drop to the floor — seriously. Pair the peep-back bodysuit or bra and matching brief with a crimson lip and dangerous stiletto, and you have a recipe to knock ‘em dead, or, speechless at least.

Another new style is the sensual, cool-hued Sincéreté — the ideal set to wear on a long snowy night. The signature soft-cup bra is created from luminous silver lace and matte silk, and features straps adorned with delicate crystal embellishment.

Okay, so as if I haven’t tempted you enough, the images below will surely induce a lust-worthy obsession.

Damaris lingerie can be found at fine boutiques worldwide, in the U.S., and online at net-a-porter.com.

Megan Fox Returns For Armani Fall Line

Megan Fox_Elle Magazine

Actress-temptress Megan Fox is getting ready to sell some underwear this fall, after resurfacing in a couple of well-timed appearances for Emporio Armani.

First, the Transformers beauty showed up yesterday an one of four cover girls for the new Elle magazine (above), which is marking its own 25th anniversary by profiling young celebrities who also turn 25 this year.

Then today, Megan appears in a teaser video released by Armani, called The Tip. It’s only 22 seconds long, and it shows the lingerie-clad star greeting a lucky hotel room-service waiter. No indication of what kind of “tip” the lad receives, but use your imagination!

There’s a similar mini-vid out featuring men’s underwear spokesboy Cristiano Ronaldo, who likewise gives a hotel maid something to blush about.

Watch for more from both Megan and CR as Emporio Armani rolls out its fall jeans line and underwear collections in the next week or so.

Ayten Gasson’s Sensuous Silk Creations

Lady M longline bra and skirted knicker | Ayten Gasson Lingerie

Nothing matches the luxuriant sensation of pure silk lingerie against the skin. Nothing drapes as well or feels so indulgent. And few contemporary designers have as much fun with silk as Ayten Gasson.

Based in London, Ayten has been producing small collections of her signature lace bras, teddies, knickers, slips and other supremely indulgent items for about five years. Many of her designs are derived from authentic vintage lingerie items found in antique and second-hand shops around the UK. Clearly, Ayten likes to look backward with a romantic fondness for the elegance and glamour of bygone days.

The new fall collection from Ayten Gasson adds several impressive new lines to the catalogue, most of which work as lingerie or sleepwear and, for the daring, even outerwear (worn under a sweater, of course — this is fall, after all!)

This time, Ayten has drawn her style cues from the Regency period of the early 19th Century, a time of extravagant glamour in British high society and its fashions.

For a good indication of what this means, have a look at the pieces below from the Elizabeth line, which is offered in both olive and a perfectly regal plum shade. The selections include glamorous underwire bras richly embellished with Nottingham lace, luxurious teddies and Ayten’s signature skirted knicker. She has also introduced a gorgeous silk-lined, front-closing waspie (below left) that is a true statement piece.

Other standouts in the fall collection include the black silk Lady M line trimmed with black lace and playful latte-colored ribbons (that’s the Lady M longline bra in the photo above), and the shimmering Catherine line (bottom right) of navy blue silk and bright contrasting lace trim.

Ayten takes a lot of pride in sourcing her materials and manufacturing in the UK, and also in paying homage to the classic traditions of British fashion. You can find matching silk cuffs and eyemasks for most of her outfits, as well as sensuous tap shorts and beautiful open-back kimonos that close in front with satin ribbon ties.

The Ayten Gasson label is quickly becoming a must-have for devotees of vintage styling and can be found in a growing number of upscale boutiques in the US as well as throughout Britain.

And, while the fall collection is grabbing all the attention, it’s also a great time to scoop up some AG heirlooms through her annual clearance sale of previous lines. Hard to imagine, but right now you can pick up a full ensemble for under $100!

Here’s a selection of pictures from the new collection. Lots more over at Ayten’s website.

VenusWilliams_US Open 2010

Venus Williams is known to create quite the buzz on court with her wardrobe choices (remember her lingerie–esque ensemble at the French Open?), and this year’s U.S. Open has been no exception.

The tennis star defeated Shahar Peer in straight sets on Sunday, but it was her hot-pink sheer tennis dress with matching short-shorts that got people buzzing — and tongues wagging.

And if you’ve been following the tennis open, you’ll undoubtedly remember (how could you forget) that Venus’ skintight rhinestone-encrusted, booty-revealing outfit made an encore during last night’s match against Francesca Schiavone. That and she moved on to the semi-finals.

Initially revealing the sparkly tennis dress on Friday  playing against Mandy Minella, the black sheer get-up resembled something you’d be more likely to see in a nightclub, rather than a tennis court. But it’s the hot-pink version of her initial attire that has really created frenzy and set the blogosphere on fire.

When asked by reporters what prompted her latest fashion choice, Venus simply replied: “This outfit was supposed to be about New York. It’s like bursts of fireworks.”

Um, perhaps there are other ways to show your patriotism without having to tug it back over your behind after every point? Just saying.

Potential wardrobe malfunction aside, I am looking forward to seeing what Venus flaunts next during the semis!

What do you think of Venus’ colorful outfits? Do you find her tennis garb too distracting, or do you love her flair for fashion?

Missing in action at this year’s show will be last year’s show-stealer Miranda Kerr and Doetzen Kroes, both of whom will be on maternity leave.

To get a taste of what’s to come, we’ve included some VS sketches above and below, showing some of the costumes being prepared for the big night. Cue the spotlights!
