Get inspired with the the June issue of Vogue magazine, which features Gossip Girl hottie Blake Lively in a surf-inspired swimwear spread. Shot by photographer extraordinaire Mario Testino, Lively returned to her native Californian roots for a swell photo shoot.
Also in tow? Vogue European Editor at Large Hamish Bowles (to interview the bombshell-star). Now, I have quite the admiration for witty Bowles — not only is he one of the most stylish men in the fashion industry ( I swear, I stood stupefied in the infamous Conde Nast cafeteria when I spotted the elegant man in all his sartorial glory) , but Anna Wintour, Vogue Editor at Large, apparently loves to send the dandy Englishman on out-of-the-ordinary assignments (not too long ago, did Hamish trek through the Utah desert on a wilderness survival course — he did survive, in case you’re wondering).
So to see Hamish admirably standing in a wetsuit covering his lower-half, paired with a juxtaposing printed-suit on top, is simply Hamish in a nutshell: willing to try anything, yet always infusing a sense of style into the experience.
Anyway, clearly I digress. This spread would have never come to fruition were it not for the sun-kissed thespian, Blake Lively. Enviably toned and taut for her upcoming role in Green Lantern (ugh, she makes it look so easy), Lively hit the waves in style with sexy beachwear. Contrasting beautifully against her bronze skin, Lively wears a tiny white string bikini by Eres, a white one-piece by Michael Kors with clear inserts, as well as an MK robin’s egg blue swimwuit bottom. However, the ensemble de resistance is the wetsuit-inspired Burberry top in soft celery, paired with Nicole Miller Swim boy shorts.
A true artist, Testino captured the essence of the quintessential laid-back, barefoot California girl … with a little injection of high fashion, of course!

As for Hamish? Don’t worry, he bravely challenged the waves head-on and survived surf camp.
