The 2010 FIFA World Cup is only a month away, and the question on everyone’s mind is: what will I wear?
Leave it to French lingerie label Etam to come up with an obvious answer. Etam has produced a limited edition line of bikinis modeled after the flags of the major World Cup competitors.
The triangle bikinis go on sale May 15, and don’t be surprised if they start a little controversy. Rather than produce swimwear for all 32 teams competing in the football extravaganza in South Africa, Etam is offering only 7 pieces – in effect, handicapping the tournament with its predictions for the teams most likely to advance.
Thus, if you’re from Germany, UK, France, Spain, Argentina, Greece or Brazil – congratulations, you made Etam’s cut and can proudly strut your stuff poolside in your national flag. Alas, however, if you’re from Japan or Switzerland or even host country South Africa – you’ll just have to stick to your skivvies. Ouch!
No matter: Win, lose or draw, these fun bikinis are sure to pop up on beaches around the world this summer!
But get them while you can – Etam’s special World Cup series will only be on sale for two weeks, so get yours before the World Cup starts on June 11.
