I love a great photoshoot. You know the kind I mean: take a great model, an awesome fotog, a clever theme and wrap the whole thing up in subtle messages and insinuations that keep you guessing.
Such is the case with a stunning lingerie spread in the latest V magazine which I’ve been studying for several days. Titled “Cabin Fever”, the shoot from V64 features supermodel Carolyn Murphy in a fantasy sequence involving all manner of trouble with a couple of boytoys.
The series is shot by Sebastian Faena and tells a wickedly erotic tale that unfolds over several pages, in both amber-tinged color and stark black-and-white.
As near as I can tell, it plays out like this: a somewhat matronly Carolyn, with her hair pulled and pinned behind her, encounters a pair of lean lads (brothers? twins?) during an outing by the lake. Someone then produces a rustic nearby cabin, where the trio retire to indulge their yearnings.
There whole scene swirls with undercurrents of both jealousy and homoeroticism on the part of the boys, and more than a little shyness – or second thoughts? – on Carolyn’s part. To complicate matters, a couple of shots appear to show Carolyn and one of her suitors emerging from a barn, solo. Bad girl!
The ostensible “subject” of the shoot is the season’s best fine lingerie pieces (although one might wonder why a girl in such a situation keeps changing her undies so often!). In any case, here’s a sample from V magazine, with the lingerie pieces identified.
Postscript: “Cabin Fever” appears in V64, the one with Kirsten Dunst on the cover. The new issue, with Scarlett Johansson, is out tomorrow!
